MADRE SELVA



Actually Sachaqa Centro de arte is promoting cultural activities in the province of Lamas with the support of the Cultural Project of San Martin and the Municipality of Lamas. For 2012 there is restructure artistic cultural events under the name of Madre Selva (Mother Jungle).

Introduction:

The Peruvian Amazon covers almost two thirds of Peru surface and has around 4 million Peruvian inhabitants. The Peruvian amazon extends over an area of 75 million hectares almost the equivalent of 59% of the national territory.
The Amazon not only has space for the richest forest in biodiversity on the Planet rich unique species and endemic plants and animals also has an immense cultural diversity with 19 different languages distributed in 950 original communities and 15 indigenous villages voluntarily isolated.

Madre Selva is a program composed for diverse artistic cultural events during 2012 giving the open space to create a big platform and networking experiences with sustainable activities in harmony with our environment.

Objectives:
 Strengthen the intercultural relations between different regions of the country and the amazon.

·        Create a platform of networking between the different sectors and organizations related to the amazon

·        Promote the interest and the participation of the youth in the planned activities.

·        Generate space for exhibitions and commercialization of local products.
